Our Story

Muddy Waters was born from our dream to live sustainably on Country. Muddy Waters is situated on the banks of the Barwon river which is traditional Gamilaroi land. In our language (Gamilaraay) Muddy Waters translates to Milimili Gali.

We are a family of seven, consisting of Luke and Carolyn (parents), Dylan, Noah, Evie, Milly and Toby (children); Who together enjoy fishing, hunting, collecting, and growing food with mother nature in mind. we are proud to use traditional knowledge, farming methods and techniques passed down through generations, to rehabilitate and reestablish age-old Aboriginal practises, including native grains, bush foods and aquaculture.

If you are looking for a peaceful secure place to stay, Muddy Waters is the perfect place for you. Situated 3km from the township of Walgett, we are the ideal home base if you are looking to explore the wonders of the Walgett Shire.
